DATE November 2012 Reports To Director of Interactive Technologies OVERVIEW This position is responsible for advancing The Childrenrsquos Museum of Indianapolis through the efficient and effective use of business applications Responsible for leading internal clients in defining technology opportunities and needs This position is responsible for administering the museumrsquos data environment and leading datarelated initiatives at the museum Acts as the primary contact for interfacing between the users of the systems and outside support vendors and inside technical resources ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Maintains an awareness of and ensures the accuracy of the functionality of business application software and the underlying data structures Coordination with the Technology InfrastructureSecurity Administrator on security procedures for data loss vulnerabilities and creating a secure environment to protect sensitive customer information Perform data backups and data and application recovery when necessary Supports end users in report generation Provide client support (including training) for museum applications and business systems Interface between the users of the systems outside support vendors and inside technical resources Implement server and enduser application patches and software installs and upgrades as necessary Work with vendors to automate methods of delivering data Manage annual software maintenance agreements track enduser and server software licenses and perform server and enduser application installations and configuration Lead the museum with the IIT Team in adoption implementation and training in data warehousing business intelligence and business analysis initiatives Track report and attain excellence in a variety of key indicators of success and metric categories focusing on end user satisfaction including the effectiveness of business applications in performing museum business and the staff satisfaction with museum business applications Responsible for supporting all business software applications (Blackbaud) and for training the end users in the effective use of business applications in performing museum business and the staff satisfaction with museum business applications Lead change management planning and communication during changes and upgrades that impact application users and visitors Work collaboratively with the web developer on staff to integrate business systems with web applications gallery technologies and websites REQUIREMENTS Bachelorrsquos degree in Computer Technology Computer Science or a related field Three yearsrsquo experience in providing application client support in a primarily proprietary application environment Experience in data warehousing technologies Microsoft SQL Server and Access preferred Experience with Blackbaud products (Raiserrsquos Edge Patron Edge Patron Edge Online Financial Edge) preferred Experience with PHP preferred The ability to display patience when dealing with staff members with varying degrees of technical ability Appreciation and respect for the confidentiality of information Must have excellent oral and written communication skills Must have excellent problem solving logic and collaboration skills ADA REQUIREMENTS Must be able to review detailed billingsproposalscontracts and heavily view computer monitor screen make individualmuseum andor public presentations Must be able to operate handheld mobile devices electronic devices and social media applications Must be able to handle communications by telephone contact oneonone conversations and public presentations Required to be able to handle heavy communications by telephone contact oneonone conversations and public presentations Must be able to handle heavy keyboard and calculator use and heavy paperwork processing Requires the ability to negotiate national and regional air and vehicular travel must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
