| The team is seeking new members with a curiosity to explore the cutting edge in developing and applying new technology including gesture recognition for both touch and touchless interface designs If you are up for a challenge and enjoy working in a casual open pit environment then this is the position for you Company Description Founded in 1925 WellsGardner Electronics Corporation is a distributor and manufacturer of video monitors for a variety of markets The need to grow has sparked a quest for innovation and expansion into new markets with new products The Advanced Development and Applied Research Organization is leading the charge for innovation WellsGardner is focused on extending its reach into new technology Company Benefits Our benefits are competitive with the current job market We offer MedicalDentalVision insurance Life insurance 12 paid holidays per year (after 30 days of service) Vacation 401K saving plan with a company match of 50 up to a max of 6 contribution Flexible Spending Account and Tuition Reimbursement with a 3000 cap per session We also offer flextime Job Purpose Statement The primary role of the Senior Software Engineer is to assist and develop software throughout the various stages of a project including requirements gathering documentation design and testing phases It is essential that the candidate demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit to help create compelling and differentiating solutions to address the growth initiatives of the company The primary focus of our software engineers is to develop enduser applications and PC drivers for new technologies Reporting Structure Reports directly to the head of the Advanced Development and Applied Research Department Job Functions Work with business development representatives to define requirements and develop technical specifications Analyzes requirements and designs solutions for projects and change requests Codes tests debugs implements documents and maintains complex programs Develops test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs Communicate effectively to ensure that all business requirements are being assessed and addressed in a timely manner to ensure development projects meet or exceed performance targets The ideal candidate will develop an indepth understanding of every system component comprising a solution and will work to understand the systemlevel issues Mentor Software Engineers in coding and debugging issues when the solution is handed off to the Product Engineering Department for commercialization Analyze and provide feedback on peer designs in an open and collaborative design review forum Proven experience in lifecycle management following product from conception all the way through to shipping fruition Work effectively crossgroup and crossdiscipline Desire to quickly understand and adopt emerging test methodologies with a passion for quality Perform other related duties as required Knowledge Experience in several of the following areas is desired Windows desktop and server Linux desktop and server networking and security Desired Skills A solid foundation in computer science with strong competencies in data structures algorithms and designing for performance scalability and availability Solid understanding of objectoriented programming (OOP) and experience using OOP in projects Programming experience using two or more of the following languages C C++ andor C Understanding of design patterns is a plus Experience designing user interfaces on a Windows or Linux desktop environment Experience making user interfaces using patterns like MVC MVP or MVVM is a plus Experience programming in both Windows and Linux desktop environments Experience developing drivers in both Windows and Linux desktop environments is a plus Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment Strong written and oral presentation Sharp analytical abilities Proven design skills including documentation through UML Knowledge of the VESA standard is a plus Strong sense of ownership urgency and drive Willingness to travel up to 10 Experience BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent 5+ years of software design and commercial development experience |
