Job Description
| Essential Duties and Responsibilities Handle all aspects of design engineering work Directly communicate with customers in the form of quotations meetings and presentations to understand and define their needs Understand and respond to customer requests both verbal and written Design product to meet all requirements Manage several projects at one time Assist drafting the test lab manufacturing quality and planning as required Handle all changes and problems related to product assigned Act as technical expert for the company for both internal and external customers Responsible for entire product life cycle Education and Experience B S Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Minimum of 710 years design engineering experience is required Experienced with SolidWorks (w AutoCad a plus) Job Knowledge Skills and Abilities Must be able to work with customers to define and document requirements address technical concerns and provide project status Ability to make technical presentations internally and to customers Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Computer literate Able to work with minimal supervision both alone and in teams Strong project management experience Strong background in material selection and application Basic knowledge of heat treatment of steels Background in gearing industry a plus Background in aluminum andor iron casting designs a plus Supervisory Responsibilities May assist in overseeing and assigning work to other positions Physical Demands Some light physical effort required Will be required to perform occasional lifting of light test lab materials Regularly required to sit or stand reach bend and move about the facility Work Environment Work performed in a combination of an office and lab environment Minimal travel required Will be required to perform other duties as requested directed or assigned |
