| The Company Midwest Warehouse is a privately owned twentyfive year old Chicagoland based 3rd Party Logistics company with warehousing distribution and transportation operations Job Description The direct hire 3PL Application Developer is responsible for supporting and enhancing Third Party Logistics applications that support 250+ users across 14 facilities This is a newly created position that will report to the IT Director of the company and work out of our Woodridge location The position is a handson role for a 3PL Application Development and Support professional with strong analytical project management software development and Microsoft technology skills and experience Applications Environment The Company currently utilizes two packaged 3PL application products both from Cadre The majority of the operation runs on the Cadre Cadence software product which is an online system that makes heavy use of handheld technology RF devices on the warehouse floor The Cadence product was developed in a Microsoft technology environment A significant portion of our customers use EDI to submit and receive transactions A few of our warehouses still run on Cadrersquos legacy Accuplus software The plan is to convert all of the warehouses to Cadence and extend the functionality and usability of the base Cadence product to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of our operations Responsibilities Become an expert in how to leverage our existing applications to support and improve the operations of the company Build trusted working relationships with the business Create and maintain accurate complete system user documentation Provide support for users of existing systems that have questions or issues that they cannot resolve themselves Resolve application related Incidents Work with the IT Director and key management to define requirements for system enhancements Work with the IT Director to Architect and design system enhancements Work with the IT Director to estimate and manage development projects Develop test and document of system enhancements Provide periodic (weekly and monthly) status reporting on active projects Prepare monthly reports on the status of application related Incidents Previous Experience 5+ years of Application Development experience in a Microsoft technology environment Distribution Logistics andor Warehouse Management experience preferably in a 3PL or 4PL environment Development of complex reporting and business process applications utilizing Microsoft technologies Participated in the implementation of a Logistics software package Bachelorrsquos Degree Personal Qualities Hands on results oriented Strong and respected leadership skills Must possess a ldquofire in the belly Excellent communication skills Must adapt working style to various individuals and situations Selfstarter able to operate within a fastpaced unstructured environment Benefits Competitive salary 401k and profit sharing Medical dental and life insurance Vacation and holidays Visit our website httpwwwmidwestwarehousecom httpwwwmidwestwarehousecom to apply and learn more about Midwest Warehouse |
