| The Macquarie Group is headquartered in Australia where we are a leading provider of a full range of investment banking financial markets and retail financial services Macquarie currently employs over 13000 people in 28 countries Macquaries success has been characterized by a strong commitment to chosen markets and a clear focus on achieving outstanding results for our clients in those markets Technical expertise strong risk management and an enterprising approach underlie our activities in all areas and have enabled us to achieve a consistent record of profit and growth delivering significant benefits to clients and shareholders The Technology Division is responsible for the management of Macquaries technology infrastructure the support and development of existing business systems and the delivery and deployment of new systems technologies and services It comprises business aligned teams which provide dedicated and specialist services to businesses as well as central teams which provide shared services such as infrastructure to multiple businesses We have an immediate requirement for a Junior C++ developer to join the Energy Trading team within FICC Technology team This position is based in Houston Responsibilities Develop inhouse technical solutions for the Commodities Markets division with a focus on Energy Markets Assist with the design implementation and deployment of new trading products and subsystems for the management of Market Risk Credit Risk and Accounting Work alongside the business and other technical team members to deliver projects that meet the rapidly changing US Gas Oil and Power markets Contribute to the continuous improvement of business processes with a focus on automating operational processes Work with developers quants and business clients to deliver time critical applications Our requirements Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or related degree 13 years programming experience with Java Python or C++ Willingness to focus on and excel in developing applications using predominately C++ and Python Experience with LinuxUnix beneficial Strong problemsolving skills Ability to work throughout the software development lifecycle (analysis design development testing and deployment) Desire to work in Financial services and develop skills in Commodities Trading Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with people from many different areas within the organization Macquarie is an equal opportunity employer (MFDV) |
