| SafetyKleen Systems Inc has a commitment to excellence deeply rooted in a strong sense of tradition Our entire business model revolves around keeping North American businesses green We generate more than 12 billion in annual revenue as a worldclass environmental service organization and market leader in industrial hazardous waste management partscleaning technology and oil rerefining We collect over 200 million gallons of used motor oil each year and we have the largest rerefinery capacity in North America allowing us to rerefine more than 150 million gallons each year We have more than 4300 employees across the United States Puerto Rico and Canada Together we are building on almost half a century of innovation by developing new products and services to serve the changing needs of our thousands of customers across a broad range of industries and markets from local auto shops to major corporations and government agencies Every day we help our customers resolve their waste management needs and reduce their carbon footprint PROTECTION CHOICES PEOPLE MAKE GREEN WORKTrademark SafetyKleen Systems Inc is seeking an Oil Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities Develop standards and specifications for mechanical equipment in oil capital projects Specify select and order equipment for capital projects Supervise or direct the installation of the equipment Provide thorough documentation for all equipment Set and modify maintenance schedules for equipment Provide training requirements for people working on the equipment Review PIDrsquos and PFDrsquos and participate in their development Coordinate with representative of agencies utility companies vendors material suppliers and contractors to obtain information and guidance and make appropriate equipment selection and prepare specification sheets Establish budgets and schedules for projects and participate in meetings proposals and presentations Develop capital budgets with Senior Process Engineer Prepare and submit funding requests for approval Research equipment standardization availability and sparing philosophies so refineries can achieve optimum plant operability Communicate status of projects with senior management Work with outside engineering services to develop large capital projects Support unit startup shutdown and nonroutine operations when needed including Procedure reviews Turnaround planning Monitoring operations Interacting with external technical resources Provide guidance training and support to other engineers technicians plant management and operations to facilitate an understanding of mechanical engineering technology as it relates to operations Act as a technical consultant to operations maintenance and engineering to troubleshoot problems and implement solutions Lead or participate on teams to implement plantwide initiatives and strategies that meet the companys longrange plan Recognize and address specific unit performance issues using technical experience and knowledge Review MOCs participate in PHA activities and incident investigations Answers questions and participates in project reviews (PIDs HAZOP 3D models) as part of design followup support Develop and enhance the SKrsquos technical knowledge and information base to enable factual based business decisions and predictive approaches to improved reliability and safe operations Monitor and analyze unit performance looking for opportunities to increase profit decrease costs or implementing ldquoGreen Initiativesrdquo Requirements Bachelorrsquos degree in ME or closely related discipline 10+ years of engineering experience in a refinery or chemical plant Familiar with appropriate ASME API NFPA etc standards Excellent documentation skills Experienced with PSM requirements PE (US) or PEng (Canada) preferred Benefits We recognize people as our most valuable asset Our competitive salary and benefits package includes matching RRSP dental insurance medical insurance disability benefits prescription drug coverage confidential employee assistance programs life insurance a visioncare plan paid sick time paid company holidays and paid vacations _________________________________________SafetyKleen is committed to promoting equal opportunity in employment Employment is contingent upon a successful background check Some positions also require a prehire medical exam Must meet all work eligibility requirements Environmentallyresponsible business |
