| A Journey Like No Other Starts Right Here Throughout the East Metro there lies a health system dedicated to creating the best health care experience through a passion for caring Its a system with a rich history of JudeoChristian values and an unwavering commitment to stateoftheart services Its a system defined by its peoplemdashworking together for the community and one another For a professional journey unlike any other head to HealthEast Care SystemRegistered The Network Engineerrsquos role is to ensure the stability and integrity of inhouse voice data video and wireless network services This is achieved by planning designing and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization In addition the Network Engineer will participate with the installation monitoring maintenance support and optimization of all network hardware software and communication links This individual will also analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user training where required Performs on call duty for one week interval within the rotation group bull Design and deploy company LANs WANs firewalls and wireless networks including servers routers hubs switches UPSs and other hardware Ensure network connectivity of all servers workstations telephony equipment fax machines and other network appliances bull Interact and negotiate with vendors outsourcers and contractors to secure network products and services Conduct research on network products services protocols and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry bull Develop implement and maintain policies procedures and associated training plans for network administration usage and disaster recovery bull Oversee new and existing equipment hardware and software upgrades Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed bull Practice network asset management including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration network mapping processes and service records bull Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports Assist in the monitoring of the network setting up the alert system and getting those alerts to the correct enterprisewide monitoring environment bull Resolve operational issues builds and modifies connectivity to new locations using enterprise standards and processes Provide ongoing operational system support and resolve escalated issues Interact with vendors on problem determination resolution issue tracking upgrades and fixes Qualifications Bachelorrsquos Degree in Computer Science Management Information Sciences Mathematics Engineering Business or area of functional responsibility preferred or a combination of equivalent education and experience bull 57 years of experience with LAN WAN WLAN and WWAN design and implementation bull Specific knowledge and some experience with Cisco routers switches including Cisco Nexus firewalls DNS and IP configuration setup and F5 load balancers bull Network security with Checkpoint experience desirable bull Experience with network capacity planning network security principles and general network management best practices bull Understanding of other infrastructure components such as Microsoft VMware operating system storage solutions security and web servers Performance unit and load testing instrumentation and analysis strategies bull Strong interpersonal written and oral communication skills bull Able to conduct research into networking issues and products as required bull Ability to present ideas in userfriendly language bull Highly selfmotivated and directed with keen attention to detail bull Proven analytical and problemsolving abilities bull Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a highpressure environment bull Strong customer service orientation bull Experience working in a teamoriented collaborative environment HealthEast Care SystemRegistered is the largest notforprofit health care system in the East Metro with four hospitals and fourteen clinics We have been named one of the Top 100 ldquoBest Places to Work in HealthCarerdquo in the nation by Modern Healthcare and one of the Top 50 health systems nationwide by Thomson Reuters Apply online at wwwhealtheastorg httpwwwhealtheastorg (job number HE14942) |
