| Job Description Symmetricom (NASDAQ SYMM) a world leader in precise time solutions sets the worlds standard for time The company generates distributes and applies precise time for the communications aerospacedefense IT infrastructure and metrology industries Symmetricoms customers from communications service providers and network equipment manufacturers to governments and their suppliers worldwide are able to build more reliable networks and systems by using the companys advanced timing technologies atomic clocks services and solutions All products support todays precise timing standards including GPSbased timing IEEE 1588 (PTP) Network Time Protocol (NTP) Synchronous Ethernet and DOCSISRegistered timing Symmetricom is looking for a Senior Hardware (Board Level) Engineer to join the enterprise engineering team to develop system level electronics for precise time and frequency products Job Responsibilities Designing board and system level electronics (PCB) with analog digital and mixed signal components Working with the entire development cycle including product definition prototyping and production Developing schematic capture creating bill of material simulation and debug of prototype PCBAs Lead hardware project development on new technologies for commercial applications Supports existing designs Collaborates in a dynamic lab environment with physicists PCB layout engineers software developers and technicians Provide guidance on best practices for passing all regulatory requirements during design and layout We expect a candidate who can take us to the next level in a next generation design environment Job Requirements Essential Qualifications BSEE or BS in related field Minimum 8 years related work experience Commercial and enterprise system design experience Able to mentor more junior members of the team provide accurate input for project estimation Electrical design skills with FPGAs Microcontrollers Analog Circuits and Data Converters expert at board and system level debug and test Expert at using common lab equipment including digital oscilloscopes spectrum analyzers DVM etc Board level simulation experience that drives signal integrity and regulatory compliance A ldquosupport and servicerdquo passion to be at vortex of engineering development with aggressive schedules and challenging quality objectives Experience in the development of new products with aggressive timelines Personal work style that includes being selfmotivated very creative and capable of handling prioritizing and managing multiple projects Able to work collaboratively on multi discipline RD projects (thermal power compliance and software) Experience generating quality documentation to support their work from system specifications to ECOs Strong written and verbal skills Willingness to travel 20 Additional Desired Qualifications MSEE or MS in related field Direct experience with any of the following is considered a plus analog technologies analog filters opamps power supplies circuits servo loops lowpower design low noise design Direct experience designing or applying any of the following digital technologies LANWAN network interfaces embedded DSP ultra low power microcontrollers Experience with precision time references a plus Symmetricom targets candidates who value teamwork have effective interpersonal skills and who respect technical leadership and structured processes to build a world class product Click here to apply httpwwwClick2applynet33k8dzg |
