| About the Company AirFastTickets is a rapidly growing International online travel company which books airline tickets hotel reservations car rentals cruises vacation packages and various attractions around the world Through our website or over the phone customers have the opportunity to make reservations real time 24 hours a day With offices in NYC Athens Berlin and London we offer exciting career opportunities dynamic and entrepreneurial work environment and excellent benefits Summary We are in the process of building out an IT department and are looking for top notch WebApplication Developer Responsibilities Develop new customized web applications and maintain existing ones ensure all internal systems are integrated Develop databasedriven web interfaces for rapid realtime information sharing Develop external web portals allowing users to input and retrieve information Design and implement userdriven templates databases and interfaces for ease of use Expand and support a companywide Intranet allowing data manipulation for each internal staff member Perform testing of web applications involving users where necessary and report results Desired Skills Experience At least 4 years of development experience Advanced knowledge of programming languages such as PHP MYSQL JQUERY AJAX XML SOAP net Thorough knowledge of programming according to ldquograceful degradationrdquo ldquoprogressive enhancementrdquo and ldquocross browser compatibilityrdquo rules Solid ability to produce semantic HTML Experience working with APIrsquos Experience with CMS implementations Strong understanding of Web architecture (HTTP REST hypermedia) Good knowledge of design patternsantipatterns Excellent communication and relationship building skills Strong customer service orientation Professional drive and improvement focus Team orientation and positive attitude Fluency in writtenspoken English bilingual a plus Selfmotivated detailoriented and organized Proficiency in Internet related applications such as EMail clients FTP clients and Web Browsers Comfortable with testdriven development Experience in structured environment with increasing levels of responsibility and complexity Previous experience with ticketing merchandise PointOfSale systems a plus |
