| Looking to work at a young selective statesupported liberal arts and sciences university of 4800 students located in beautiful metropolitan southeastern Virginia between Williamsburg and Virginia Beach Consider a career with Christopher Newport University as their IT Support Technician The successful candidate will deliver technical services to maintain and support utilization of Christopher Newport Universityrsquos technology infrastructure with particular emphasis on desktop support Will provide excellent customer service and support to the CNU community The knowledge skills and abilities will include Indepth familiarity with installing troubleshooting and maintaining Microsoft and Apple operating systems Familiarity with a broad selection of desktop applications Familiarity with Apple management software including Apple Boot Camp Apple NetBoot NetRestore and Apple Remote Desktop Familiarity with a broad selection of mobile devices and mobile device operating systems such as IOS Windows Phone and Android Familiarity with Microsoft and TCPIP networking Thorough knowledge of office productivity suites particularly Microsoft Office Exceptional customer service skills including telephone and written communications skills and the ability to instruct over the phone and through remote desktop sessions Advanced PC hardware and software troubleshooting skills Ability to learn new software scripting tools and automation tools quickly Ability to write technical documentation Superior interpersonal and communication skills Proven ability to model professional integrity and behavior Required High school graduate or equivalent with equivalent experience Indepth familiarity with installing troubleshooting and maintaining Microsoft desktop operating systems Indepth familiarity with installing troubleshooting and maintaining the Apple OS X operating system Previous significant experience in a technology support help desk environment including troubleshooting and maintaining desktop level hardware software and experience with OS network configuration Familiarity with Microsoft and TCPIP networking Familiarity with a broad selection of mobile devices and mobile device operating systems such as IOS Windows Phone and Android Thorough knowledge of office productivity suites particularly Microsoft Office Experience with incident logging or ticketing systems Preferred Apple Certifications A+ Network+ Microsoft Certified Professional or related certifications Linux experience Bachelorrsquos degree in Computer Science or related field Purpose To deliver technical services to maintain and support utilization of Christopher Newport Universityrsquos technology infrastructure with particular emphasis on desktop support To provide excellent customer service and support to the CNU community Christopher Newport University (CNU) will accept only online applications for all CNU employment opportunities (wwwcnuedu httpwwwcnuedu ) Resumes and cover letters may be attached to the online application Online applications must be received by midnight on the closing date 122812 Faxed emailed handdelivered or mailed applications and attachments will NOT be accepted For further information about CNU please visit our web site at wwwcnuedu httpwwwcnuedu |
