| HJF is seeking a System Administrator to support the US Army Medical Research and Materiel Commands Biotechnology High Performance Computing Software Applications Institute (BHSAI) wwwBHSAIorg httpwwwbhsaiorg located in Frederick MD HJF provides scientific technical and programmatic support services to the BHSAI Main responsibilities are to maintain the IT infrastructure for the Institute and providing IT support to users Responsibilities Analyze and assess users general IT support requests and provide prompt technical solutions Install configure test maintain monitor and troubleshoot user workstations and other IT infrastructure components such as printers servers switches and data storage Organize and maintain physical equipment in IT storage room and server room Document processes and procedures Work independently and proactively as a member of a team Maintain a high level of personal responsibility and ownership Provide programming support and perform other duties as assigned Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities Excellent customer service and communication skills Excellent knowledge of Lima andor BSD system administration (desktop and server) Windows 7 and Linux workstation deployment and support Good knowledge of computer networks and common services Familiarity with (or willingness to learn) Windows Server Active Directory and HyperV administration (Server 2008 R2 and 2012) Ability to write nix shell and Windows batchPowerShell scripts to automate tasks Experience with building computers from parts Experience with configuring network switches and firewalls Ability to lift and move IT equipment as necessary Additional skills desired but not mandatory Familiarity with installing and maintaining database servers on Linux Understanding of computer security authentication and encryption principles Disaster recovery planning and knowledge of Bacula backup software iSCSI Storage Area Network (SAN) administration Minimum EducationTraining Requirements Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent experience Minimum Experience At least three years of hands on experience in systems administration and IT support Physical Capabilities Able to lift and move up to 50 lbs Please apply online at wwwhjforgcareers httpwwwhjforgcareers Click ldquoAdvanced Searchrdquo and enter job number 207883 in the Job Opening ID box OR fax your resume to 2403147334 Please specify title and job number on fax HJF is a nonprofit medical research organization that provides support services to the military medical community and offers a competitive salary and generous benefits package AAEEO HJF administers innovative medical research supports education and training and facilitates collaborations between the military and private medical communities We provide comprehensive management and scientific services for more than 1000 basic clinical and applied research projects conducted around the globe We also support continuing medical education programs for more than 160 military medical research and treatment facilities and military medical organizations |
