| This posting will end at 900 PM PST on March 8 2013Primary responsibilities include day to day administration support and monitoring of Oracle databases in a large SAP environment The SAP DBA is responsible for the overall health and performance of the SAP databases providing technical support including troubleshooting and providing solutions for Oracle issues and proactively seeking out ways to improve performance and streamline the environment More specific responsibilities include health checks system copies maintenance and upgrades of Oracle software and management of the database backup and recovery process Additionally the SAP DBA is responsible for Providing database information for auditing purposes Executing the disaster recovery plan at least annually Documentation of processes Analysis forecasting and allocating storage Evaluation application testing oversight and migration of DBMS software upgrades patches and new features using SAP OSS notes Acting as the liaison to the Backup Team for scheduling requirements ondemand backup requests and all recovery needs Execution of archive job processing table reorganizations and file system management Databaserelated application tuning including SQL evaluation tracing and index review This position works on a highly technical team and must be a team player working closely with other DBAs and SAP System Administrators SAP Security SAP functional support teams and IT infrastructure teams Some after hours and weekend work is required based on critical project deadlines issues andor client needs Qualifications Oracle DBA with 7+ years of experience in a large scale environment 57 years of handson experience providing Oracle support in an SAP environment is preferred Well organized and selfmotivated Good communications skillsBachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field Experience Oracle 10 and 11UNIX operating systems (AIX Linux)RMAN and the interface to NetBackup of SAP systems BRTools SAP MaxDB researching OracleSAP problems and hot news on the SAP Service Market Place and using database transaction codes to investigate problems on SAP systems are a plusSAP ECC BW CRM PI Solution Manager SRM MDM |
