| Position SummaryThis position optimizes business and manufacturing processes to cement Cascades role as a leading supplier of microelectronic test solutions Using principles of industrial engineering you will establish stable and lean production practices across several USbased manufacturing areas Improved factory productivity and reduced cycle time are the direct result of your workJob ScopeAs a member of a crossfunctional project team this individual will be responsible for making product acceptance determination based on OQC test results Errors may result in product malfunction in the field or waste of time and material in production Key influencer of the Operations Management team with broad latitude to set the direction of factory improvement projects Responsible for executing projects on time and on budget Responsibilities will include specifying expense and capital purchases To be successful the individual must employ creative problem solving and process solutions while remaining sensitive to concerns outside the area of expertise Essential FunctionsThis position is responsible for implementing systemlevel process improvements in the engineering probes production probes thin film fab and Summit manufacturing areas These improvements will be based on systems level analyses of the manufacturing flow Projects will include specifying and working with IT to implement WIP controls systems such as ERPbased shop floor control or sophisticated Manufacturing Execution Systems As the industrial engineering expert on an interdisciplinary process engineering team this position will lead projects to reduce process complexity using Lean Manufacturing principles Leadtime efficiency and cost improvements will be made through by capacity modeling time and motion studies work flow optimization and optimization of the factory floor layout This position will consult on ergonomics and work station design and will be the primary process engineering liaison to the EHS and facilities teams In addition this position will provide daytoday support of the factory floor and may be responsible for optimizing and documenting manufacturing instructions troubleshooting production issues and supporting process improvement or new product development initiatives Minimum QualificationsBachelor degree in Industrial Engineering with 3 ndash 5 years of experience as an industrial engineer in a semiconductor or similar setting Exposure to backend semiconductor assembly and test PCB manufacturing wafer probing would be considered a plus Technical Skills and KnowledgeCandidates must be skilled in process simulation and design and have experience in workstation and plant layout Experience implementing process flow in a Manufacturing Execution System such as Camstar or in an MRPERP system such as QAD Syspro or SAP is a significant plus Software experience should include AutoCAD or SolidWorks an MRPERP system such as Fluency programming in LabView net or MSSQL is beneficial All candidates must be fluent in Microsoft Office including Excel Word PowerPoint and Visio Fluency in structured problem solving techniques such as ISIS NOT Ishikawa and FMEA techniques is desired Familiarity with SPC and DOE is a plus Performance SkillsThe ideal candidate will be a selfstarter who has the ability to analyze a manufacturing environment envision the factory at peak efficiency create a roadmap to bring the team toward this pinnacle and drive the roadmap projects to completion Successful candidates will be confident and flexible teamplayers looking to leverage their skills on a high performance team and will be eager to find opportunities to improve Excellent organizational skills and a high attention to detail are highly desired A demonstrated track record of managing projects to completion on time and under budget is a significant plus Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas effectively in writing and verbally Physical RequirementsThis position is split between an office setting and a clean room environment that will require the wearing of protective clothing such as a bunny suit and goggles Candidates must be able to understand and follow safety procedures Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds is required with occasional bending stooping Oncall support or manufacturing may be required Interpersonal ContactsPosition collaborates closely with other members of the operations staff including management supply chain production personnel and engineering
