Administrator SUMMARY ERP System Administrator is a key role for providing technical support system configuration change management and overall application management related to the Visual Enterprise Resource Planning system With IT department support ensures application and database backup and recovery procedures are implemented along with maintenance of the application components to ensure adequate performance high availability and reliability Responsible for system security and user account administration database performance tuning and custom report development as required by business units using report creation tools ESSENTIAL SKILLS KNOWLEDGE RESPONSIBILITIES Essential and other important skills knowledge responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to the following Technical skill set Expert in Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and 2008 administration Expert in Structured Query Language (SQL) and relational database design Advanced proficiency in SSIS SSRS and writing Stored Procedures Install and configure SQL Server including backups and restores Ability to setup run and schedule SQL Server Jobs and Profiler traces troubleshoot as needed Diagnose and resolve performance issues with stored procedures functions and queries Experience in report design and adaptation with Gupta Live report builder or Crystal reporting tools Technical knowledge Knowledge of Visual Basic 60 VBnet Visual Basic Script Knowledge of Net Framework Knowledge of Transactional Replication Knowledge of server based client driven applications Strong PC skills including thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Business knowledge Principles of Lean Manufacturing Inventory management supply and demand balancing concepts Supply chain management Responsibilities and Support Install server and client software Establish system securitydatabase access policies including system access profiles per internal audit requirements Create administrative and security groups for system access deploy group policy controls accordingly Create and maintain user logins with links to access profiles Troubleshoot technical and functionality issues Monitor data and take proper corrective and preventive measures to ensure consistency in the application Identify analyze and resolve issues reported by end users Coordinate with software vendor technical support team to resolve system issues that cannot be resolved internally Support related external system interfaces Initiate application and user profile change requests where warranted Analyze and understand the impact of change requests Create and maintain all relevant system documentation including testing protocols and standards for applying patches upgrades and system modificationschanges Coordinate and perform testing of patches upgrades and system modificationschanges Develop plans for ongoing selection of system upgrades Analyze system requirementsspecifications and direct data migration in support of upgrade Manages relationships with business units served by the system as well as vendors who provide products support and other services relative to the system Assist with business analyst activities within the business units in the following capacities Help define reporting requirements Build and modify reports as required to support evolving business processes Bridge system expertise with detailed knowledge of business processes Act as liaison between the users Subject Matter Experts and IT personnel Takes afterhour calls as required Available for nonstandard work schedule as required Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Experience Required Five or more years progressive and directly relevant experience in ERP driven manufacturing environment Proven experience successfully serving as the primary contact for supporting a large scale software system Demonstration of three or more of the following core competencies System Administration Database administration andor programming Software quality assurance Business systems analysis Systems implementation andor maintenance Application development Minimum two years of experience maintaining ERP software solutions or four years of experience working in ERP applications Participation in a minimum of one implementation of an enterprise wide ERP software solution Education Bachelor degree in a related field or equivalent experience CompetencySkills Sound understanding experience in IT environment using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Resource Capacity Planning tools in any manufacturing ERP Excellent communication presentation skills including making scheduledunscheduled presentations to development teams business units internal and external clients and colleagues Commitment to timely followthrough of assignments in accordance with deadlines Ability to be an individual contributor directly involved in the hands on tasks necessary to achieve the deliverables Strong decision making skills selfmotivated and goal oriented with the ability to manage all levels of the organization impacted or involved with a system Proven critical thinking and problem solving skills Ability to quickly adapt in a rapidly changing environment Relationships Reports To IT Manager Interfaces With IS staff internal customers internal and External Auditors outside vendors and consultants
