| inhouseIT is recruiting for a SystemsProduct Test Engineer with a proven track record of successful project deliveries and testing methodology experience Responsibilities include working collaboratively in the design implementation and maintenance of server infrastructure components Additional responsibilities as a product test engineer includes drafting test plans test execution test documentation and collaboratively working with technology vendors to troubleshoot and facilitate organized reporting of test results This person must possess strong consulting skills for technical and business scenarios as well as organized requirements gathering and testing experience to effectively onboard new technologies This position requires maturity and expertise in many aspects including team coordination and participation the ability to work with and prioritize competing demands and the ability to interface with internal clients (sales support and field staff) external clients and technology vendors The duties of the SystemsProduct Test Engineer will serve as a consulting resource to support clienthosted installations and implementation assist with product technology evaluation developing test plans testing and documentation set upconfiguring test staging environments troubleshoot and work through open issues with technology vendors Most of this support is local or virtual so travel expectations are minimal This candidate needs to be an excellent team player with the ability and drive to follow selfdirected initiatives Work crossfunctionally with various internalexternal customers and vendors to define deliverables Possess the ability to mentor and train junior engineers Strong documentation and planning skills Develop detailed functional specifications design documents and test plans Flexibility to support escalation channels and support oncall duty requirements Establish and maintain effective working relationships and work collaboratively and respectfully with other team members Performs other job responsibilities and duties as assigned CORE SKILLS Experience with most of the following applicationstechnologies Microsoft Active Directory including troubleshooting repairing and configuring per best practices Microsoft Server Operating Systems including but not limited to Small Business Server 20002011 Windows 2003 Windows 2008 Windows 2008 and Windows 2012 Candidate should be able to install migrate troubleshoot and repair Microsoft Server Application Systems including but not limited to Exchange 20032010 SharePoint and SQL 20002008 Candidate should be able to install migrate troubleshoot and repair Backup Technologies including the following software and hardware systems Backup Exec 102012 SCSI base tape systems SAS based tape systems autoloaders and backup to disk technologies Candidate should be able to install migrate troubleshoot and repair Remote Desktop technologies including but not limited to Windows 20032012 terminal services (RDS) Citrix Presentation Server 4x Citrix XenApp Server 665 and Citrix XenDesktop 45x Candidate should be able to install migrate troubleshoot and repair Virtualization technologies including but not limited to VMware vSphere 3551 XenServer 5x HyperV on 2008 and 2008R2 hosts Candidate should be able to install migrate troubleshoot and repair Candidate should also be knowledgeable in networking components as it relates to the technologies listed above including firewalls routers and switches (layer 2 and 3) Experience with requirements gathering documentation and product technology evaluation Log and report test results through defect tracking systems Help build and maintain Engineering test facilities (virtual environments and physical test systems) Make recommendations for improvement of the product testing process Help advance testing tools technology and processes within Control Systems Teams Experience documenting process flows and diagrams using Visio and other process tools Working experience with testing and integrating SaaS and Cloud Technologies a plus Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum Kanban) a plus EDUCATION Must possess a relevant combination of education experience and training that demonstrates the knowledge skills and abilities to perform the duties listed A bachelorrsquos degree in Computer Engineering Computer Science Information Systems or related technical field is preferred LICENSESCERTIFICATIONS Candidate should possess some of the following certifications or experience that is equivalent MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert) MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate) VCP (VMware Certified Professional CCA (Citrix Certified Administrator) QualificationsSkills Must have excellent analytical and problem solving skills ResultsDriven with ability to take initiatives and meet deadlines in a fast paced changing environment Detail oriented with strong organizational skills to effectively work in a dynamic environment Highly organized with ability to multi task and motivated with sharp customer focus Analytical organizational interpersonal and communications skills Experience on boarding new technologies and helping to take them to market is highly desirable Job duties may require maintaining a physical condition necessary for sitting for prolonged periods of time Must be able to exert light physical effort typically involving lifting carrying pushing and pulling of up to 30 pounds Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation The position requires that you be able to perform frequent downward flexion of neck sidetoside turning of the neck fine finger dexterity and grasp to manipulate the keyboard telephone writing instruments papers books manuals and reports The job entails walking standing bending stooping climbing the ability to reach at and above shoulders and twisting at the waist On an infrequent basis you must be able to squat and kneel Work may involve outdoor fieldwork and possibly some driving |
