Job Description
| The Database Administrator is responsible for the daytoday operations and troubleshooting of all CHE enterprise databases This includes all aspects of database administration including installing maintaining monitoring trouble shooting issues and upgrading Assists with the design and implementation of next generation systems that will support the CHE Information Services infrastructure as well Responsible for all aspects of CHE Enterprise Database Management Manages all databases performing database administration database performancetuning security maintenance and troubleshooting Supports prototype development by designing modeling and creating databases stored procedures triggers etc and moving all database objects to the production environment Responsible for ensuring that development and staging databases are up to date Responsible for the design development and implementation of mappingstransformations based on sourcetotarget specifications development standards and conventions performing monitoring and tuning of ETL jobs and providing operational support to production ETL processes and code Responsible for requirements analysis design development performance analysis and tuning testing support and maintenance of database applications Designs and develops data structures to store enterprise data Manages scheduled database processes supporting automated file transfers Maintains databases including updating statistics reindexing structure modifications capacity planning and index analysis Develops best practices and supporting documentation Maintains configuration management of database objects Works with integrated project teams as project database administrator for largescale modifications and new product releases Plans and executes smallscale database modifications and SQL scripts for bug fixes data repair and functionality enhancements following established change control policies Supports data replication to and from multiple web sites and maintains the underlying batch processes Responsible for communicating all database performance degradation to the Information Services management and support staff Develops and maintains technical documentation and project plans Demonstrates the commitment to customer service by providing responsive and effective support developing solid working relationships with customers and Information Services colleagues Measures capacity and performance trends to determine longterm needs Provides systems metrics root cause analysis and proactive monitoring Works with the Disaster Recovery Team on creating testing and updating disaster recovery plans Assist software engineers and end users with query writing database access and general information Demonstrates commitment by promoting and adhering to the CHE System Office Code of Conduct which includes the objectives of CHEs compliance program policies and procedures and ethical business practices |
