| The City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) District 508 is the largest community college system in Illinois and one of the largest in the nation with 5800 faculty and staff serving 120000 students at seven campuses and thirteen satellite sites citywide The City Colleges of Chicago is currently in the midst of a collaborative effort to review and revise CCC programs and practices to ensure students leave CCC collegeready careerready and prepared to pursue their lifersquos goals CCC includes seven colleges Richard J Daley College KennedyKing College Malcolm X College OliveHarvey College Harry S Truman College Harold Washington College and Wilbur Wright College The system also oversees the Washburne Culinary Institute the French Pastry School two restaurants five Child Development Centers the Center for Distance learning the Workforce Institute the public broadcast station WYCCTV Channel 20 and radio station WKKCFM 893FMDuties To lead and direct the development and operations of the Information Technology cluster at Wright College The Dean will ensure collaboration among an academic team that is inclusive of faculty industry partners and administrative staff ensuring development of relevant credit and noncredit occupational programs specific to the Information Technology cluster area to provide students with credentials of economic value The Dean assists the President in planning organizing and directing the operation staffing and budgeting needs of the College to Careers Cluster in support of the following goals Increasing the number of students who earn college credit credentials of economic value Increasing the rate of transfer to Bachelorrsquos degree programs following CCC graduation Drastically improving outcomes for students requiring remediation and Increasing the number and share of ABEGEDESL students who advance to and succeed in collegelevel courses Leads the effort with Faculty and industry partners to develop relevant coursework and degree programs in the Information Technology cluster Builds strong partnerships with companies and organizations within the Information Technology Careers Cluster Responsible for oversight of and accountable for meeting recruitment retention and graduation targets of students in the College to Careers Cluster as well as other C2C targets as defined by CCC and Wright College administration Responsible for development of new courses workshops and certificate programs for the College to Careers Cluster based on enrollment data analysis market trends and community assessment Works with campus and District Office administration serving on committees as necessary to plan and execute the overall philosophy and goals of the College to Careers Cluster Collaborate with internal and external partners to establish and maintain internship and externship programs that will supplement classroom instruction with hands on experience Writes proposals for federal state or private funding that meet the assessed needs of the College community Manages the department and its overall operations through direct supervision of key staff and provides necessary guidance of staff to ensure proper operation of programs Plans and conducts staff meetings and training activities for division staff including instructional staff and offcampus site coordinators to keep staff informed and to improve program operations Promotes staff development based on regular written student evaluations supervisory evaluation and performance monitoring Develops and monitors annual department budgets based on history of expenditures predicted enrollment and revenue and current allocations Plans and supervises the scheduling of all College to Careers Cluster courses and other activities Coordinates the development and distribution of schedules and other promotional material to the community Represents the College to Careers Cluster and its programs to achieve visibility through planning and coordinating groups and committees within the College service area Prepares written communication correspondence reports enrollment documents budgets marketing information department policy and procedures time lines activity checklists etc Reviews and analyzes enrollment data communicate results and plan strategies through written reports Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor All CCC employees are required to adhere to CCC Customer Service Excellence standards Qualifications Masters Degree in Computer Engineering Computer Science Information Technology Information Systems or related degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required Minimum of 7 ndash 10 years of experience in the information technology field with quantifiable outcomes and results Demonstrated leadership and communication skills Ability to work with the private sector governmental agencies and community and civic organizations Minimum of three years of experience working with business and industry in workforce development related activities Five years in planning and providing training and technical assistance to groups and individuals Demonstrated supervisory and management skills a must Must work well with employees at all levels of the organization in addition to students and other customers Proven experience in managing and directing a diversified work staff Must be able to handle all situations with tact persuasiveness and diplomacy Excellent writing and verbal communication skills necessary Must be able to effectively represent the college and district at various meetings Must be able to write grants and other reports clearly and accurately Ability to work with students from diverse communities many using English as a second language Previous budget development experience preferred Must be selfdirected and innovative able to assess current operations in an effort to improve the future goals of the college Must be able to meet deadlines in a timely manner Ability to operate computers and use software applications Experience in writing successful grant proposals Knowledge of student management programs a plus How to Apply
