| Unix Systems Administrator This position is located in our Atlanta (Georgia) office – Perimeter Center. The Systems Administrator is expected to be in the office on a full-time basis. Occasional travel will be required to our offices and data centers located in Irvine, California and New York, NY. Some positions will require after hour or weekend commitments. Linq3 Technologies is a small but growing, well-funded software company. Linq3 develops and owns patented technologies that enable enhanced functionality to unmanned POS terminals (ATMs, gas pumps, taxis, kiosks, etc.). REQUIREMENTS Extensive experience in a Unix/Linux environment (prefer experience with FreeBSD and Solaris) Solid understanding of networking concepts (routing, DNS, VPNs, NAT, VLANs, MPLS, packet filtering, etc.) Understanding of system and network security Understanding of TeleComm and Networking architecture Experience with configuring and hardening systems with security in mind PCI DSS or other compliance framework experience (SOX/Sarbox, GLBA, HIPPA, etc.) a plus Hands-on experience with system monitoring tools, such as Nagios Good scripting experience (prefer experience with PHP, Perl, Bourne Shell) Understanding of hardware concepts (can assemble a PC from a pile of components) Experience with network and hardware redundancy, fail-over, and high availability SQL experience (prefer MySQL) Security-related experience - Basic cryptography, PKI, TLS, SSH, HIDS/NIDS, IDS, etc. Strong knowledge and demonstrated hands on experience with C, PHP, HTML, and/or XML Ability to configure and manage the following services and applications: - DNS (bind) - DHCP - VPNs (OpenVPN, IPSec) - IMAP (dovecot) - SMTP (sendmail) - HTTP (apache) - SIP, RTP (asterisk) - iptables, ipfilter - A host of other acronyms RESPONSIBILITIES Initial hardware configuration and setup Ongoing maintenance of hardware and software (patches and upgrades) Remote server administration (software upgrades, building/shipping spares and replacements) System staging & upgrades (Hardware & Software - new kernels, deploying new apps, etc.) Assist with maintaining PCI DSS Level 1 Certification Acceptance testing (Partner, Payment Gateway, PCI DSS, etc.) System health monitoring Metrics gathering, performance analysis, and capacity planning/monitoring/tuning Release engineering Network provisioning (MPLS, T1, POTS, fiber, etc.) Create new and maintain/modify existing scripts Corporate administration (email, telephony, website, desktops, remote VPN servers, etc.) Work with vendors - hardware, software, network, data centers, other suppliers Research solutions for various problems and needs - both software and hardware PERFORMANCE QUALIFICATIONS Proactive self-starter Innovative thinker Detail-oriented Consistent and well-organized Strong follow-through abilities Flexible Well spoken Good written communication Strong documentation skills Solution and results oriented Cooperative and helpful Willingness to do some travel (<15%) |
