| Sr Systems Administrator The corporate immigration firm of Berry Appleman Leiden LLP (BAL) in San Francisco is seeking an Senior Systems Administrator to join their dynamic IT team We offer a collegial work environment that places a high value on collaboration Must have excellent writing skills be highly organized and have the ability to multitask Must also be able to work within strict time lines have excellent customer service skills and a high attention to detail OVERVIEW Provides level of support to end users on a wide variety of technical and nontechnical issues Identifies researches and resolves technical problems Prioritizes and responds to telephone calls email and personnel requests for technical support Documents problems and helps assess the need for user training Carry out system administration responsibilities including Windows Server Microsoft Exchange and Avaya telephone system The position has a key role to play in terms of IT infrastructure including carrying out specific projects Reports to the IT Operations Manager and collaborates with other IT staff and vendors to design and implement PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (Under the supervision of the Information Technology Director) bull Provides support to users on PC hardware software and telephone issues bull Identifies researches and resolves technical problems following the firms standards and guidelines bull Document trouble calls and enters solutions into a central database Offers solutions and recommends training for recurring problems bull Prioritizes tracks and monitors problems to ensure timely resolution bull Maintains IT hardware and software inventory recommending and coordinating new purchases and disposing of obsolete hardware and software bull Performs daily operations tasks including backups restore testing setting up audiovisual equipment for meetings bull Assist in the management of Windows Servers Virtualization storage and group policies bull Assist in the management of the Microsoft Exchange environment bull Manage the Avaya phone system in each office bull Responsible for selected IT improvement projects and participates in others SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES (Under the supervision of the IT Operations Manager or the Information Technology Director) bull Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Skills and Abilities bull Strong knowledge of bull Microsoft Windows (XP 7) bull Microsoft Server software (2003 and 2008) bull Microsoft Office (2007) suite of applications bull Microsoft Exchange (2003 2007) bull Symantec Backup Exec (11d or higher) bull Wifi configuration and setup bull Network switches bull SSL VPN technologies bull MS Terminal Services bull Thorough understanding of working in a best practices environment including exposure to controls and auditing bull Working knowledge of bull Microsoft SQL Server (2000 2005) bull Microsoft Visio (2000 2003) bull Citrix Xen Server bull bull Knowledge of commonly used concepts practices and procedures for resolving hardware and software related issues bull Excellent interpersonal communication (both oral and written) and problem skills bull Great customer service bull Familiarity with telephone systems administration Experience bull At least 4 years experience in PC SupportHelp Desk field bull Experience in administration of Windows Server and Microsoft Exchange bull Experience troubleshooting repairing PC hardwareSoftware and peripherals bull Experience working in a professional environment bull Experience working in an environment with multiple offices or locations experience in working with remote users Minimum Education Level bull Bachelors Degree in Information Technology Computer Science or related degree (Experience may be substituted for degree) To apply to this announcement click on the following link or copy and paste it to your internet browser httpswww6ultirecruitcomBER1011jobboardlistjobsaspxPageList httpswww6ultirecruitcomBER1011jobboardlistjobsaspxPageList ) |
