Job Description
| We are seeking a technical lead engineer who has an in-depth understanding of industry leading virtualization technologies including KVM and Xen. The successful candidate will report to the Linaro Director of Working Groups and will interface with the Linaro management team, the Directors of the Enterprise and Networking Groups and other working group technical leads. Travel: International travel is required for approximately 1 week duration 3 times per year to attend Linaro Connect events. Skills / Requirements: BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Computer / Electrical Engineering or related job experience 5+ years of experience in virtualization technologies Expert in KVM mandatory, XEN highly desirable Strong working knowledge of open source development tools and methodologies. Experience submitting code to upstream projects. Knowledge of the ARM architecture Excellent organizational skills. Excellent troubleshooting skills Excellent teamwork skills within a diverse and globally distributed environment Strong verbal and written English language communication skills especially in online environments such as mailing lists and IRC. Must be innovative and a "self-starter" Key Responsibilities: Organize and direct a cross organizational team of engineers working on virtualization technologies for the Linaro Enterprise and Networking groups. Run team meetings and report on progress towards achieving the Virtualization Project goals Primary technical contact between the virtualization project team and other Linaro engineering teams. Mentor less experienced team members on Linux, open source software and upstreaming of code.
