| Job Title Software Engineer Decision Management Systems (DM060512BR) Location Cambridge MA 02138 Job Code DM060512BR Job DescriptionCharles River Analytics is an applied research and development (RD) small business that thrives on developing new ideas to address user needs and advance the stateoftheart of software support for the US Government (primarily Department of Defense) As a Software Engineer in Decision Management Systems you will be instrumental in taking wild disruptive concepts and proving they have potential through proofofconcept web and desktop applications You will have an opportunity to work on a variety of interesting yet challenging problems learn and apply emerging technologies as you see fit experiment with new approaches and grow within a small development team The ideal candidate for this position has a voracious appetite to understand what needs to be done and then execute quickly Since the majority of work we do is novel you should thrive delivering in the face of changing or looselydefined requirements Initially you will be working on developing a social discovery platform and suite of mashup tools for end users to combine data in new and interesting ways Future projects may include developing web and desktop decisionsupport systems to help users decide which option is best among alternatives implementing search and optimization algorithms or creating believable behavior for virtual characters in simulationbased training environments Requirements Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field At least 25 years of professional software development experience Demonstrated expertise in web application technologies both on the frontend (eg JavaScriptJQuery CSS HTML Ajax) and backend (eg Java EE) featuring experience integrating with thirdparty web services Demonstrated expertise in Java (ie J2SE) and Swing development for desktop applications Demonstrated experience using thirdparty libraries frameworks tools and infrastructures Superior creative and innovative problemsolving skills Initiative and ability to work independently and in a team Interest to learn more about new languages frameworks and application design approaches Desirable but not required Experience with AgileScrum development processes Experience with usercentered design humancomputer interaction (HCI) or information visualization Experience with computational intelligence techniques such as search and optimization machine learning human behavior modeling Additional information Code and writing samples may be requested US citizenship is required for this position |
