| Software Engineering Job Title Software Engineer Web Application Development Location Cambridge MA Job Code CS031512DK Job DescriptionCharles River Analytics is developing a stateoftheart webbased enterprise system for members of the US Armed Forces This decision support system aids in understanding and analyzing human behavior in monitoring and optimizing missions and in communicating and collaborating This is an excellent opportunity to help us expand and transition a prototype software system to help an established usercommunity perform their analytical tasks more effectively and efficiently We are looking for outstanding candidates with handson web application development experience (ideally with JavaJ2EE Spring Framework and Hibernate but other technologies are acceptable) and exposure to AgileScrum development methodologies The candidate will help design and implement usercentered applications working closely with our customers and users and with our topnotch team of software engineers and scientists Because the domain involves the exploration of scientific concepts such as human behavior modeling and causal reasoning the desire and ability to learn and understand advanced concepts both within and outside of software engineering will be important to succeed Requirements Bachelorrsquos degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field Three or more years of professional software development experience ideally with exposure to the full software lifecycle (from requirements through production) Demonstrated expertise in web application technologies (JavaScript CSS HTML) Knowledge of web application stacks Experience in AJAX web application development and associated skills (REST HTTP web services) Experience developing rich web user interfaces with JavaScript including related libraries (jQuery jQuery UI D3) Desire to learn and to help operationalize scientific concepts such as human behavior modeling and causal reasoning Work onsite in Boston this position has no remote work option US Citizenship is required for this position Desirable but not required Masterrsquos degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field Experience with JavaJ2EE ideally including Spring Framework and Hibernate Experience with servlet containers such as Apache Tomcat and JBoss Experience with AgileScrum development processes SQL database experience (Microsoft SQL Server preferred) Experience with testing methodologies and frameworks such as unit testing behaviordriven development (BDD) or testdriven development (TDD) Experience with Windows Server 2008 as the operating system for web application servers |
