SUMMARY: The Database Administrator is responsible for all activities related to database applications and the corresponding support systems of the Company. Essential Qualifications and Responsibilities * Understanding of database management in an Enterprise environment * Knowledgeable in database recovery and high availability * Backup and recovery of databases * Responsible for Implementing and maintaining the schedule for maintenance jobs in order to maintain the health, performance, and integrity of the database systems * System health monitoring and proactive correction of issues * Responsible for database alerts, maintenance plans and scripts * Creation of jobs, stored procedures, and other database activities as needed * Control of security of the database systems and how users interact with the data * Migration of data based on the needs of the Company * Provide trend analysis to management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management. * Responsible for the installation, configuration, application of patches & upgrades to corporate SQL servers * Install, upgrade, & configure applications and database software on Microsoft Windows Server platforms * Support Microsoft SQL-Server, IIS, and .NET Framework. QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience : Four year degree in a technical field is required along with a completed MSDBA certification (or equivalent experience). 5 years in the Information Technology field performing increasingly complex tasks plus a minimum of 3 years of experience performing DBA duties and implementing new IS directives is required. Experience working with .Net developers, Java, developers, SqI Developers and testers. Competencies, Working Skills and Attributes: In depth SQL Server Database Administration experience. Experience of managing multiple MS SQL 2000, 2005 & 2008 RDBMS on large systems Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on Database projects Experience Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service. Experience of Transactional SQL, and DTS stored procedures.
