Job Summary: This is an opportunity to join the IT department of a dynamic, fast growing and highly successful global organisation. The candidate will assume shared responsibility for first and second line support for all key parts of the IT infrastructure, including desktop and server estates. The candidate will exhibit the requisite enthusiasm and aptitude to develop in this role and assume broader responsibility over time. Key Responsibilities: First and second line desk-side support to all Ashmore Washington staff Group-wide responsibility for the development and support of the Ashmore IT infrastructure Escalation to other members of the Group IT team and/or external partners Remote support of overseas offices and travelling staff Administration of Active Directory, including the joiner/leaver processes Conducting daily and weekly checks of the IT infrastructure, including the monitoring of backups (and resolution of any related issues) Determining training needs and delivering ad-hoc 1-to-1 desk-side training on standard corporate software (notably MS Office 2010 and Windows 7) Support of other technologies as the need arises, including the BlackBerry estate, Cisco telephony, video conferencing and printing services Administration and support of the ServiceDesk (call management) system, including the maintenance of the Solutions knowledgebase Assisting the broader IT Infrastructure team in their duties, including procurement, installation, configuration, upgrades and associated documentation Management of relationships with external IT partners and vendors to ensure the best possible levels of service to Ashmore Out-of-hours support of IT infrastructure and IT applications (via participation in an on-call rota) Required Skills: Strong technical understanding of desktop technologies, including but not limited to Microsoft Windows 7 and Office 2010 Good understanding of Microsoft Exchange 2010 Ability to utilise own experience, advice from colleagues and 3rd party support to find optimum solutions to technical problems Ability to quickly learn new technologies and concepts Contributes ideas to the evolution of the IT function Excellent time-management, prioritisation and active management of own workload Excellent communication skills and ability to work with all levels of the company Honest and realistic in the setting of expectations, even when the message may be poorly received Professional and courteous at all times.
