Dow Jones is looking for a Project Manager to lead a variety of projects related to the Corporate and Financial Groups. The project manager is responsible for the management of large programs/projects or multiple projects. The projects may vary in size, scope and complexity but in most cases are high profile/priority projects with high levels of functional integration. The project manager takes projects from original concept through final implementation. The project manager must communicate with all levels of management and stakeholders regarding project information. Position Responsibilities: Develops and maintains productive working relationships with business partners, customers and the Dow Jones systems community Drives delivery of a project aligning with business needs and overall strategy Teams with business partners for new development projects, systems enhancements and maintenance projects Manages the overall technical project; understanding requirements and design, development, testing and implementation activities for the entire project using structured methods and techniques Develops, integrates and coordinates the project schedule, scope of work, project schedule and project team and understands overall project budget Works with Tech Managers and Directors to estimate team work assignments and schedules, monitors and guides progress Monitors and tracks project progress according to the planned project deliverables and drives the efforts of the team required for successful delivery; drives issues to resolution Gather and package communications to stakeholders and management around the projects Position Requirements: A minimum 5 years' progressive experience in project management Oversee teams ranging in size from 5-30 project resources Hands-on experience with both waterfall and agile methodologies with the ability to realize when to leverage each to create maximum efficiencies A solid technology background and understanding of trends in web architectures, SOA, Web 2.0 Experience with online media, publishing and social networking is a plus Dow Jones, Making Careers Newsworthy At Dow Jones our Managers work to meet our equal opportunity and affirmative action objectives and our Employees help to foster a professional, welcoming and encouraging environment.
