MarketWatch, a DowJones company, is seeking to hire a Lead Web Developer. We are looking for someone who wants to develop state-of-the-art web products to meet the demands of our customers in the Financial Services industry. We are seeking a seasoned hands-on leader with web development experience who will be responsible for leading the team in the design, implementation and support of market leading Web Sites. The individual will be required to fulfill the following tasks within the department and business as a whole: Work with the IT Manager: • On a day-to-day basis lead a team of developers providing guidance and instructions on implementation • Mentor and motivate developers • Actively participate in development The following skills and qualifications will be required/desirable: • Excellent problem solving ability • Excellent knowledge of online development methodologies and development project lifecycle • Previous experience in a technical leadership role • Broad but in depth knowledge of online technologies • Essential programming skills & platforms (very high proficiency): Understanding of current web technologies (CSS, jQuery, HTML5, REST, JSON) • Microsoft .NET experience (ASP.NET MVC, ISS, WCF) • Excellent communications skills
• Experience in the Financial Services Industry would be ideal
Education • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent years of industry experience
