Dow Jones is looking for a senior project manager to manage a variety of projects related to the Wall Street Journal Digital Network. The project manager is responsible for the management of large programs/projects or multiple projects. The projects may vary in size, scope and complexity but in most cases are high priority projects with high levels of functional integration. The project manager takes projects from original concept through final implementation and maintenance of information technology services' business systems solutions. The project manager must communicate with all levels of management regarding project information. As the project manager is going to be working with the WSJDN web development team, editorial, design, and associated product development teams. The project manager: Develops and maintains productive working relationships with business partners, customer and Dow Jones systems community. Assists business partners with new development projects, requirement definitions, enhancement projects for existing systems and system maintenance projects. Based on evaluation of business plans/opportunities analysis, recommends projects. Assesses alternatives for economic feasibility, budget impact and delivery risk. Supervises and guides the design, development, testing and implementation activities for the entire project using structured methods/techniques. Must be familiar with both waterfall and agile methodologies with hands-on experience in both and clear understanding on when to use what Must have a good technology background and understand the trends in web architectures, SOA, Web 2.0 Develops, integrates and coordinates the project budget, scope of work, project schedule and project team. Estimates team work assignments and schedules, monitors and guides work performance. Monitors and tracks project progress according to the planned project deliverables and drives the efforts of the team required for successful delivery. Position Requirements: Minimum 7+ years experience in project management. Experience with online media, publishing and social networking is a plus . " |
