| The Application Development Manager’s role is through the use of GSM’s software applications to facilitate new campaigns, products, enhancements or processes. The Application Development Manager's role is to supervise and maintain the organization’s repository of direct marketing software applications through best practices and appropriate staffing and management of an application team. The Application Manager is also responsible for planning and coordination the processes required for the provision of user applications and systems necessary for direct marketing business operations. This individual will apply proven communication and problem solving skills to guide and assist project managers, user groups, and system engineers, (etc. ) on issues related to the product delivery, design, development, and deployment of mission-critical projects. Essential Responsibilities · Facilitates reports, new campaigns, new products or processes in the implementation role and insures transition to the operations team for continued support. · Identifies and prioritizes development efforts that are aligned with overall business goals and provide a competitive advantage to the business. · Manages the creative and strategic thinking to develop new solutions for resolving business needs; develops and is main contributor of providing functional requirements to partners · Leads multiple, cross- functional and/or cross-departmental projects and initiatives for strategic and tactical marketing products. · Deploys current direct marketing application to include: enterprise reaping the full benefits of existing applications, deploying strategic application usage to meet market requirements, and ensuring that any new deployment (product, enhancement, partner etc.) meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications. · Executes development of designs to meet requirements, collaborates and manages from pre-testing phase to user acceptance. · In collaboration with Systems and Data Architect is liaising with software supplier for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies. · Collaborates with the Systems and Data Architect to spearhead teams to recommend and provide solutions for resolving business issues in the areas of planning, performance, and business process engineering. · Consults to facilitate scalability within departments and increase efficiencies. · Responsible for budget and expenses · Analyze, develop and present cost benefit analysis for new products, processes and procedures. · Collaborates with project manager, Systems and Data Architect to research current technologies and marketing trends to improve products and processes. · Promotes the value of defined processes through education of their value and documenting success stories. Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises one or more employees. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. · Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. · Responsibilities also include sponsoring, directing, coordinating, and supporting project and process, and participating in and/or supporting project teams sponsored by other management team members. Qualifications: Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university; plus eight to ten years experience in implementing, training and developing products or campaigns; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum five plus years of successful management experience. Minimum eight plus years in implementing, and developing technology products and solutions utilizing developer’s languages, platforms and database technologies. Minimum five plus years’ experience with marketing or campaign systems or direct marketing experience. Demonstrated success in managing multiple priorities. Previous experience in Project Management; Tableau, Jasper, Campaign Management Systems such as Epiphany, and large transactional data bases, a plus. Excellent presentation and organizational skills.
