CIO Advisory is part of the wider Financial Services practice advising clients in the Banking, Capital Markets, Insurance and Asset Management sectors. Our remit is to advise on all elements of technology (encompassing technology solutions, process and people aspects) including Infrastructure, System Integration, Information Management, Security and overall IT Strategy. We consult at all levels of the organization from the C-suite through to front-line IT support in the field / operations centers with a focus on making the business use of IT more efficient, effective and innovative. We often work side-by-side with both the business and IT to make our client's solutions more business relevant and to ultimately contribute to the business goals through IT
PwC's next generation data center practice leads clients in designing, developing and delivering leading edge business solutions for IT organizations. We take a transformational approach which takes into account people, process, policies, agreements, compliance, architecture and technology, to craft a solution that delivers tangible benefits such as cost optimization, productivity/performance gains, revenue generation and risk mitigation. Position/Program Requirements Knowledge Preferred: Demonstrates a proven thorough understanding and success in a role as an individual contributor or team lead on project engagements related to the design, configuration and deployment of the following solutions: -Enterprise storage solutions-- storage area networks, network attached disks, direct attached storage, EMC storage platforms (e.g. VMAX/Symmetrix, Clariion, Data Domain, and ESRS), NetApp storage products (e.g. 3240 and 3270), IBM Storwize, virtual tape library technologies, archiving solutions, and tape library systems.) -Enterprise server solutions--Windows, AIX, LINUX, and Solaris -Virtualization technologies--IBM LPARs, VMWare ESX, VSphere, Cisco Nexus 1000v -Facilities design, planning and implementation--determining data center tier requirements, recommending hosting solutions, assisting with site selection, performing capacity planning (e.g. floor space, power, cooling, rack footprint), and developing the structured cabling design -Knowledge of how to leverage IT strategy; roadmaps; architecture; engineering; operations; policy, processes and standard industry practices; and innovation and program delivery appropriately throughout the course of an engagement. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the actions necessary to identify and address client needs, including the following: actively participating in client discussions and meetings; managing engagements including preparing concise, accurate documents and implementing cross data center technologies (network, compute, storage, security, application services). Demonstrates a thorough understanding and ability to clearly articulate how an IT organization implements technology to enable the business of the client. Provides examples of thorough experience with monitoring and management tools, including CMDBs, application mapping tools, and server and storage tools such as BMS, environmental monitoring and control systems, and modeling tools.with a clear understanding of how an IT organization deploys technology. Skills Preferred: Demonstrates thorough ability to provide leadership to workstreams and resources, while also executing quality deliverables on projects related to IT Architecture, Engineering, Operations, Security and transformation experience around next generation data centers, including: -Architectural design with major networking, storage, compute and security vendors such as HP, Cisco, IBM, Dell, Brocade, Juniper, EMC, BMC, Microsoft, Citrix, Intel, Symantec, et al -Thorough exposure to project management, Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery, ITIL/ITSM and engagement analysis -Client-needs management: client relationship development and maintenance; materials preparation and presentation, both written and verbal; and definition of requirements, project workflow, budgets and reporting. Demonstrates proven extensive abilities to utilize Microsoft Visio and Excel, including interpreting one-line mechanical and electrical diagrams; developing floor plans, rack elevations, port enumerations, patch schedules, and storage and computing systems. Demonstrates proven thorough abilities as a technology thought and team leader: enabling clients to establish technology direction and implementation, while inspiring team members to create a positive atmosphere that encourages improvement and innovation; creating a positive environment by monitoring workloads of the team while meeting client expectations and respecting the work-life quality of team members; providing candid, meaningful feedback in a timely manner; keeping leadership informed of progress and issues; answering questions and providing direction to less-experienced staff .
