Headquartered in San Jose, Calif., Sanmina-SCI operates in 18 countries on four continents. In 2009 it reported a string of losses on weaker demand. To boost growth, it is acquiring smaller rivals. In 2010, it agreed to acquire BreconRidge Corp. to expand its offerings in microwave-tagging of consumer products and micro-electronic optics.
Recruiting
The company's careers allows applicants to measure their profile against openings and compare an assessment of their suitability to that of other applicants.
Be forewarned that Sanmina-SCI has been the target Internet scammers who use emails displaying the company's logo to try to lure would-be applicants into filling out a credit report with detailed personal financial information. But the company doesn't require this kind of information to apply for jobs. You can let the Federal Bureau of Investigation know if you've been contacted as part of the scam, or file a complaint with the FBI's Internet Crimes Complaint Center at http://www.ic3.gov.
