Finland’s Nokia Corp. is the world's top seller of mobile phones, with operations in 60 countries and U.S. offices in California, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Texas, Washington and Washington, D.C. Nokia also sells wireless networking equipment to telecom service providers through a partnership with German giant Siemens AG. Nokia has three units: Mobile Solutions, Mobile Phones and Markets.

Nokia was among the first handset makers to offer thin, sleek phones and extra features such as digital cameras and slide-out keypads for easy texting. Yet the giant is facing increased pressure in the market for smart phones from Apple Inc.'s iPhone, Research In Motion Ltd.'s BlackBerry, and handsets that run on Google Inc.'s Android mobile operating system.
