Overview

LSI Corp. makes semiconductors and storage systems for the storage and networking markets. Products include integrated circuits used in hard disk drives, solid state drives, communications systems, computer servers, storage systems and personal computers. It also offers external storage systems, storage systems software, RAID (redundant arrays of independent disks) gear, adapters for computer servers and RAID software applications. Headquartered in Milpitas, Calif., LSI has operations in Canada, Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

LSI recently teamed up with Seagate Technology Inc. to develop new integrated read-channel technology that gives hard drives more speed and capacity.

Culture

LSI pays cash awards, including a recognition award for those who excel and a patent award for employees who produce an invention that is accepted for a patent. Quarterly profit sharing plans as well as an employee stock purchase plan are some of the other financial perks.

The company has an education assistance program as well as a mentoring program. Loyalty is rewarded. After 10 years, employees are eligible for a four-week sabbatical.
