Logitech International SA

Overview

Logitech International SA makes electronic gear used to control and input data into personal computers. Its products include keyboards, trackballs, joysticks, digital pens and mouse devices. The Swiss company, with offices in Fremont, Calif., generates about a quarter of its revenue from pointing technology. It also offers videoconferencing equipment such as headsets, phones, cameras and microphones.

While Switzerland is known in part for its cheese, Logitech, founded in the small village of Apples in 1981, is known for its mice. The company has sold more than 700 million of them and now offers a laser-guided mouse that tracks accurately on multiple surfaces, including glass.

Culture

Unlike many European-based companies with U.S. offices, Logitech International extends the same generous vacation time allowances to all its offices. The company is also known for having employee lounges with big-screen TVs and other high-tech gear.
