KLA-Tencor Corp. manufactures equipment used to make semiconductors and other computer chips. It is among the world's largest makers of semiconductor equipment and offers chip makers a wide range of solutions, including wafer defect monitoring; film and surface measurement; and yield analysis.
KLA-Tencor was formed in 1997 through the merger of rivals KLA Instruments and Tencor Instruments. In 2008, the company brought in Mark Dentinger, former chief financial officer of software maker BEA Systems, as CFO after KLA-Tencor had to restate more than $300 million in charges related to the improper accounting of expenses for employee stock option grants.
In 2008, KLA-Tencor was inducted into Training Magazine's Top 10 Hall of Fame for being ranked in the top 10 of the magazine's rankings for four consecutive years.
Once a candidate applies online, a KLA-Tencor recruiter reviews their background, experience and education, a process that takes two-to-three weeks.
