Jabil Circuit Inc. is an electronic manufacturing services company that makes a wide range of computing, networking and other gear for large companies. Its customers include Hewlett-Packard Co., Cisco Systems Inc. and Nokia Corp.
Headquartered in St. Petersburg, Fla., it has operations in Asia, Europe and Latin America. The company’s services include design, production, product management and aftermarket services to firms in the aerospace, automotive, computing, defense, instrumentation, medical device, networking, storage and telecommunication industries.
In 2009, Jabil reduced its work force by 3,000, with about 10% of the cuts coming in the U.S. The cuts, however, may have positioned the firm for future growth. Chief Executive Timothy Main said that he expects 2010 to be a record year for Jabil revenue and earnings.
