BMC Software Inc. makes software used by corporations and other large enterprises to run their businesses. Its products include applications for storing and recovering computer data, scheduling and integrating business processes, managing information technology systems, and monitoring software performance.

Houston-based BMC is the world's 10th-largest independent software company by revenue. About 16,000 organizations use its software to manage enterprise servers, speed up and monitor databases, eliminate unplanned outages and recover system assets.

In 2010, BMC introduced new products that let its customers store and run software applications and data on Internet-based servers, a method known as cloud computing. In 2008, BMC Software laid off 350 employees.

Recruiting

BMC Software recruits for the following positions: sales, product development, programming, finance and marketing. It prefers candidates with at least three years of relevant experience. In some positions and locations, BMC offers the opportunity to have flexible work hours and to work from home.
