The San Jose, Calif., company's Acrobat Reader is the most widely used software to read and send electronic documents on the Internet, and Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and PageMaker are also market leaders.
Adobe's offerings include software applications and tools used by authors and publishers for creating Web pages, electronic books and traditional published books. Adobe's Professional Services group offers implementation, training, and support.
The company distributes its products through a network of distributors and systems integrators, through independent software vendors and to users directly. It has operations in the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia. Its software runs on a variety of operating systems, including Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac OS, Linux and Unix .

More than 800 Adobe employees from sites around the world volunteered during the 2010 annual Community Action Week. Volunteers worked on projects including planting trees, helping in schools, and serving and distributing food.
