Wellesley, Mass. start-up Mobiquity will hire at least 50 new employees this year. In February, the company secured a $3 million credit line from Comerica Bank's Technology Life Sciences Division. Founded in 2011, the company currently has 100 employees.
Mobiquity provides mobile professional services for businesses that need to create or improve their mobile strategy. It helps these businesses think about what kind of user experience and functionality its customers want and creates mobile applications to serve those needs, said Joel Evans, vice president of application development.
The company plans to hire front end developers conversant in Android, iOS and HTML5, as well as back-end engineers familiar with Drupal, Rails and PHP. New hires will be made across skill set and experience level, he said. Mobiquity values self-starters who continuously update and improve their skills, Evans said.
"We want to build a do-ocracy, rather than bureaucracy," he said. "If you see something that needs to be done, do it."
Cash compensation is competitive, he said, and new employees receive stock options. He declined to specify the company's revenue, but said it would be cash-flow positive at the end of this quarter.
