Campbell, Calif.-based company YouSendIt will hire up to 80 new employees over the next year as it tries to aggressively scale its customer base and revenue.
Founded in 2004, the 180-person company's technology allows the transfer of large files of data through email and File Transfer Protocol (FTP). Though still not profitable, YouSendIt's revenue grew to $25 million in 2010, a 60% increase from the year prior, said chief marketing officer Sandra Vaughan. The company expects revenue to grow by another 60% in 2011, Vaughan said.
A former Proofpoint and Serious Materials executive, Vaughan is one of two new executives to join the company in May. Bobby Jaffari, the vice president of sales, joined YouSendIt from WebEx Communications, a subsidiary of Cisco, where he was director of sales.
Of its 80 new hires, about half will be technologists. Desired skill sets include Java, PHP, Cocoa and the C programming language. Mobile engineers with expertise in Android and iOS are also in demand. Besides tech positions, YouSendIt is also hiring sales and marketing professionals.
YouSendIt has 30 million users, and about 19 million subscribers, of which 450,000 are paid subscribers, Vaughan said.
