Leo Apotheker is giving Hewlett-Packard a distinctly SAP-esque feel. Martin Homlish will be joining H-P in the position of chief marketing officer.
Homlish comes to H-P from SAP where he was the global chief marketing officer and the president and CEO of SAP Global Marketing. He spent 10 years at the German company.
Apotheker, who took over as CEO in September last year, also came from SAP, where he was chief executive. Homlish will report directly to Apotheker.
Homlish will be replacing Michael Mendenhall, who quit his CMO position in January to "pursue other opportunities."
In January, Apotheker also appointed Bill Wohl of SAP in a chief communications officer role, a newly created position at the company which also reports directly to Apotheker.
Before SAP, Homlish spent 15 years at Sony Corporation in several roles, including president of the media solutions company and head of Sony Electronics' corporate marketing division.
