Sally Bott has been appointed group human resources director and member of the group executive committee at Barclays, the London-based bank announced today.
Last week, UBS announced that Bott, a member of the board of directors who chaired the human resources and compensation committee, would not stand for re-election.
Bott will start her role in April and replace Cathy Turner. She will be based in London.
Prior to joining Barclays, Bott was global human resources director at BP, the global oil and gas company, and a member of its executive committee. The appointment is a homecoming for Bott, who worked in HR at Barclays between 1997 and 2000. She was head of global human resources at Marsh & McLennan Companies, the risk and strategy advisory, and also worked at Citibank for 23 years in finance and HR positions.
She graduated from Manhattanville College in Purchase, N.Y., with a degree in economics.
